Project 52 – Week 12: Revisit & Re-Edit

Quite a fitting theme this week. We get to re-edit photos or try out different editing techniques. Last week I took our old boy out to test my 70-200 2.8 and hadn’t bothered editing it too much. It was suggested to warm it up and push the colours by fellow photographers!

This then gave me the confidence to have a play with this next image. There was something I really liked about the photo and as the colours were pretty much already there, I just went a bit further with them!

Revisiting old photos that I had edited and to how I would edit them with the above in mind, I’ve gone back to 2016 and a lovely boy called Merlin.

So, which do you prefer? The warmer or originals?

  1. I feel your struggle… with your top two photos I have the same exact issue all the time and it drives me crazy. It’s a white balance problem. In the first set of photos I prefer your first edit. The white looks white. Perhaps it could be warmed up a tad… just a touch though.

  2. There is always something that we see differently later on when we are no longer focused on an image. I think my favorite change is in the second image of the puppy. I think the warm colors really suit here.

  3. For some reason I love the warmer in the first two images, but the cooler/original in the last two.

  4. I really need to start reading the blog circle from my desktop and not my cell phone, because my phone does not show true colors. White balance is something I now spend much more time with. I started using a gray card about a year ago, and it made a huge difference for me both in and out of camera. Good thoughts on this week’s theme.

  5. I agree with Kelly, that I prefer the warmer in the first two and the originals in the second two.

  6. You can certainly see your enthusiasm within the article you
write. The sector hopes for more passionate writers like
you who aren’t afraid to say how they believe. Always follow your heart.

  7. Hey! This post couldn’t be written any better! Reading through this post reminds me of my previous room mate!
He always kept talking about this. I will forward this write-up to him.

Pretty sure he will have a good read. Thanks for sharing!

  8. When I originally commented I clicked the “Notify me when new comments are added” checkbox and now each time a comment is
added I get three emails with the same comment. Is there any way
you can remove me from that service? Cheers!
