Photographing a Social Media Trio!

If you’re into the country, horses and all things rural, then you may have stumbled across Girl About The Yard over on Instagram and Facebook. If you haven’t, you’re missing out on great content – go and give Verena a follow!

Based outside of Lancaster in the gorgeous countryside- and I mean gorgeous, the views are stunning – Verena is brilliant  at engaging her audience and really likes to hear other peoples thoughts on topics, she also shares reviews on products, and spoils us all with lovely images from her daily life.

Not only is she a master at Instagram, Verena is a fully insured, experienced, BHS accredited riding instructor and offers group and private lessons, groom work and schooling for your horse at great rates! If you think this could be something you would benefit from, head on over to her website at Northern Equestrian Services.

When Verena contacted me, I had been following her on Instagram for a while, and always enjoyed seeing her updates with her Irish Sports Horse Oscar, Lillibet the Donkey, and the great daily Instagram Stories.

She was looking for some images to use on her Social Media and website: some casual ones, and then some of herself and the equines together! On one of our final emails before the shoot, she mentioned she had some Bluebells we could use which I was really looking forward to! She wasn’t joking either. After getting some shots of Oscar being plaited, we headed to the wooded area which was filled with Bluebells and a very helpfully angled tree – talk about spoilt for choice!

Oscar was lovely to work with, very cheeky and did try and have a nibble at the dress! He provided plenty of laughs during his photoshoot, and made a very nice model!

We then decided to bring the sweet Lillibet round to do her part of the session. When she puts her ears forward they are the cutest thing, and my assistant was in love…I mean who wouldn’t be?

What's Next?

Verena wants to start eventing Oscar, and they have their first event next month! How exciting! Over the winter she plans to enjoy the beaches and maybe fit in some hunting!

I know I can’t wait to see what fun they get up to in the future, and if you want to keep updated on their progress go and follow them on Instagram and Facebook!

If you are an equestrian or animal focussed business, feel free to contact me for your own photos to use to compliment your social media and website content. I have two packages available specifically for businesses!  Verena has written a blog herself about why she chose to have a shoot done and how she found her experience over here!

A big thank you to Verena for letting me come out and photograph you all, I thoroughly enjoyed meeting you!
